Coin Stickering

In 2007, John Albanese partnered with 22 leading members of the numismatic community to create the Certified Acceptance Corporation. CAC accepted coins grading by other companies and certified top-quality examples with a green or gold sticker. It wasn’t long before these stickers were universally recognized as the highest standard attainable for certified coins, commanding a premium price in the rare coin market.

Fast forward 15 years, and CAC coins are still the undisputed collector’s choice, whether bearing a CAC sticker or for coins graded by CAC (also known as “CACG” coins). Follow the link below to learn more about our Grading services.

Green CAC Sticker v. Gold CAC Sticker
There are two colors of CAC sticker, green and gold; both are commonly referred to as “beans”. But what do the different colors mean for coin verification?
CAC Green Sticker
Green Bean

For its stickering services, CAC verifies the grade for coins certified by other grading services that meet the highest standard. Out of all coins submitted to CAC, less than half receive the green sticker, commonly referred to as the "green bean". As a result, the CAC sticker serves as an unmistakable means of identifying premium coins for the grade.

CAC Gold Sticker
Gold Bean

As rare as the "green bean" is, the "gold bean" is rarer still. Coins that have exceeded CAC’s expectations for the grade will receive the coveted gold sticker. For its stickering service, the gold bean is the highest possible result. If you are looking to cross a coin with a gold bean into a CAC holder, it is guaranteed to, ignoring any plus, cross at least a numerical point higher.

If you wish to see whether your third-party graded coin meets or exceeds CAC standards for the grade, submit to our stickering service. Our graders will review the coin(s) and return each with a green sticker (for meeting expectations), a gold sticker (for exceeding expectations), or without a sticker (for not meeting expectations). Note: We do not sticker coins in a CAC holder as those coins have already met our standards.

If a CAC sticker is damaged, or you just had your coin reholdered (maybe it was cracked or scuffed), you can submit the coin for restickering. If the coin was reholdered before restickering, it must have the same certification number to qualify for the Resticker service.
