Quick Start Guide

The CAC Registry, though a familiar experience to other platforms out there, is both different and new. Below are some highlights and recommendations on the order of operations for setting up your CAC Registry account.

  1. If you don’t already have an account, sign up here.
  2. Once signed in, visit your Profile and establish your settings and preferences. See the Overview & Preferences article for more explanation about these settings.
    • Display name
    • Avatar
    • New sets public by default
    • Includes Collection items in Registry by default
    • Include Details coins in sets
    • Open Sets in new tab
  3. After your Profile is set up, if you have any existing items in your Collection, use the bulk actions in the My Collection table to add applicable items to the registry. All future coins will be added with the preferences set in your Profile.
  4. Once updating your initial Collection items, you can begin to add new items to your Collection. In addition to the coin-specific information, you can manage the images associated with the items and add other basic inventory management information to the item(s). We recommend using a barcode scanner as the easiest method to add coins (you can pick one up for less than $25; just make sure it can read Interleaved barcodes), but you can also add items via photo (whether via saved holder images from your computer or by taking pictures if adding items from your phone). This should work for most CACG, PCGS, and NGC coins; just make sure the barcode is clearly visible and in focus.
  5. Once you’ve added your Collection items, the system will begin to build your Sets. This is a function that takes place in the background, so you probably won’t notice it happening. Once the Sets are compiled, you can view them on the My Registry Sets table. They will be filtered by whether or not you are competing with them. If you have not turned on the Profile setting to always compete with your sets, you will have the ability to select which sets you care to compete with. The other sets will remain in the “available” status in case you would like to compete in them later..
  6. The next step is to make sure the Sets you want to compete in are set to Public so that other registry users can see the coins in your Sets. In the My Registry Sets table, you can see this setting in the “Public” column.

At this point, you are all set up. Once you have the hang of these few items, the Registry will not seem so overwhelming.
