At a mintage of 3,790, the 1885 proof Indian Cent makes for a fantastic type coin. Brown pieces are common along with red-brown. The finest gems are scarce. Full red gems are scarce also with the finest ones being very rare. Any grade with a cameo is, at a minimum, scarce with high Mint State grades being rare. Look for attractively toned brown pieces or blazing red surfaces as those are the most desirable and are not very tough to locate.
