This extremely scarce but popular variety involves the O mintmark appearing much smaller in size than its more typical counterpart. Determining whether one has a regular O or Micro O 1899-O takes some comparisons between the two types. Many seasoned enthusiasts can pick out an 1899-O Micro O in a moment. Only a fraction of known 1899-O Micro O Morgan dollars are known in uncirculated, and Gems are exceedingly rare. There are no 1899-O Micro O Morgan dollars known in either PL or DMPL.
