Description
The 1922-D Lincoln cent was the only regular-issue one-cent coin issued in 1922, a year notable for Philadelphia and San Francisco being absent from the penny-making scene. Only 7,160,000 Lincoln cents were made, a small but significant portion of these being the 1922 no D cent struck from a repaired die missing its D mintmark. Another sizable segment of the 1922 one-cent mintage includes coins with weak D mintmarks, coins that also actively collected.
