Description
This scarce variety is easiest to distinguish by examing the dash between the R in SILVER and O in ONE on the reverse. If the dash is curved (~) then the this is the reverse of 2008. A straight dash is the reverse of 2007.

Special strike $1 American Silver Eagles are a collectible variety of the popular one-ounce silver bullion coin series issued by the United States Mint since 1986, struck with so-called "burnished" (soft, sand-blasted) surfaces. Popular for their unique surface appearance, they are also desirable for having much lower mintages than their proof-surface counterparts of the same year.
