Description
The 1925 Philadelphia Buffalo nickel is a fairly common issue with 35.5 million examples struck and and plenty of circulated specimens available for collectors. A decent number of uncirculated pieces are available through the mid-range Gem levels, but the piece proves tough in MS66 or higher. Die preparation issues caused a generally softer appearance in strike quality this year across all three mints, though the Philadelphia issue had perhaps the best striking characteristics of the three mints.
