The 1879-CC Morgan dollar is one of the rarest of the GSA Hoard dollars. From a total mintage of 756,000, just 4,123 specimens were sold in the GSA silver dollar sale in government packaging. Thus, all 1879-CC GSA Morgan dollars command significant premiums, especially those that are still in their GSA packaging (as opposed to merely bearing the GSA provenance on a slab insert). PLs and DMPLs in GSA packaging are exceedingly rare.
