The 1912 Indian Quarter Eagle is a better date and relative to the
series it is sometimes considered a semi-key. No different from the rest of
the series, the 1912 is quite common in low to mid mint state grades
although the finest gems of this issue are a special find. In the MS60-MS64
range it is a perfect type coin and beyond that it is scarce gem that is
highly desired by enthusiasts of the series. Look for uncirculated pieces
with yellow-gold color and sufficient luster and striking. If you find that
then you have something very impressive. Those are hard to locate but do
exist.
