The 1920-S is common in the lowest of grades becoming scarce as circulated grades rise. Somewhat of a condition rarity that is comparable to the 1920-D in Mint State but not as rare as the 1919-D. It is considered a key date in gem condition. Interestingly enough, 40 such gem condition examples of them were found in a small 1970’s hoard. The luster and strike are not very strong for the issue; but, some nice golden toning is commonly found.
