The 1893 Philadelphia-mint Morgan dollar is a scarce coin in any grade, with all pieces above MS64 are rare and MS65s are quite rare. Only a handful of pieces are known in MS66. Meanwhile, PLs and DMPLs are both very rare, and none of either format are known in MS65 or better. While strikes are strong for these coins, luster is not always so frosty.
