The 1875 Shield Nickel is a fantastic type coin as it is very common in most grades yet has a far lower mintage (just over 2 million) than earlier type coin issues. Affordable and accessible up to the finest grades as this relatively low mintage does not command a premium until high gem grades, like MS66 and MS67. Die cracks are frequently seen on this date.
