Description
Edited and reused 1882 dies led to the lone popular overdate variety in the Shield Nickel Series. It is scarce in all grades, especially in Mint State. Gems are certainly rare for the 1883/2 Shield Nickel. There are at least five dies with the overdate but the most scarce and desirable one by far is the FS-301.
