A semi-key date, the 1917-D Mercury dime is scarce in circulated grades and rare in uncirculated condition. Numismatists estimate there are only a few thousand survivors across all grades, making this date particularly scarce. However, among the relatively slim number of extant pieces, many, if not most of the uncirculated specimens are well struck, exhibit strong strike, and showcase excellent luster.
