This issue from Denver is the third scarcest date of this
relatively short Indian Quarter Eagle series. Like most issues in this
series, the 1914-D is only rare in gem grades. Lower mint state coins are
plentiful but those finer gems are much more difficult to come by. Nicer
color, less graininess and stronger luster than average but the striking
for this date is quite weak. Weak rims and a not so bold mintmark make the
overall look of this issue below average amongst the series.
