The 1916 Walking Liberty Half Dollar is the first year of issue for this significant, highly collectible series. The Philadelphia Mint produced 608,000 coins, which for this series and numismatic era is relatively low. Circulated examples are scarcer than later Walker issues. Uncirculated pieces and especially gem examples are very accessible but far from common. Up to and including MS66 the value progresses gradually. Only the handful of MS67 and MS68 examples would be considered rare.
